Individual Psychotherapy

One-on-one sessions conducted by a licensed behavioral health professional for adults 18+ addressing mental health and substance use concerns in a private, supportive setting.

Psychiatric Evaluation & Medication Management

A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is conducted within two weeks of intake. Psychotropic medications are prescribed exclusively by our licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

Who is eligible for services at Valley Empower?
Valley Empower provides behavioral health counseling and treatment services to adults age 18 and older who are seeking treatment for mental health and/or substance use disorders. Individuals requiring a higher level of care — such as inpatient or crisis stabilization — will be referred to an appropriate facility.
What happens during my first appointment?
Your first visit is an intake pre-assessment conducted by a peer support specialist or behavioral health technician. We'll gather information about your current mental health status, substance use history, and personal background. This is used to develop a personalized treatment plan reviewed by a behavioral health professional within 72 hours.
Do you accept my insurance?
We currently accept AHCCCS / Medicaid. We are actively working to add more insurance providers. If you are uninsured or your plan is not yet accepted, please contact us to discuss self-pay and sliding-scale fee options.
What is the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?
Our IOP provides a minimum of 9 hours of structured therapeutic services per week, primarily delivered through group therapy with a maximum of 12 participants per group. It is designed for individuals with moderate to severe symptoms who do not require an inpatient level of care.
Who can prescribe medication at Valley Empower?
Only our licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), practicing within the Arizona Board of Nursing scope, may prescribe psychotropic medications at Valley Empower. A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is conducted within two weeks of your intake appointment.
What are your hours and location?
We are located at 16448 N. 40th St., Phoenix, AZ 85032. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Weekend appointments are available by request. We are closed on major holidays including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
